South Boston, VA- Downtown South Boston was the place to be Thursday evening for art and culture. The Global Friends Center/Destination Gallery held their ribbon cutting ceremony.
Inside you can find sculptures, paintings, jewelry, ceramics and many wonderful gifts.
People from 24 countries reside in South Boston, and center officials say they want to do their part by hosting various events to spotlight multiculturalism in the community.
"We wanted to not only preserve the historic beauty of the building that we are in but we wanted to maintain the artistic level and the cultural level of the area, we have now over 40 artists represented in that gallery right now" said Jayne Elliott, director and volunteer.
The partners on this project call themselves the dynamic dozen and right now they are all women.
