Lynchburg, VA – If you're thinking about picking up a new pair of shoes you might want to head out to Lynchburg City Armory this weekend.
Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, is holding its 13th annual shoe sale Saturday. You'll find more than 12,000 pairs of shoes there.
The goal of CASA is to make sure abused children are helped through the process of finding a new home.
This sale pays for about 20 % of the organization's annual budget.
"It's about shoes, but it's also about making purchases to help children who have been abused and neglected and are involved in the court system because they are then appointed one of our volunteers," said Jane Francis, the executive director Casa of Central Virginia.
The CASA shoe sale runs from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday at the Lynchburg City Armory. Admission is free.
