Lynchburg, VA - Civil War buffs got a chance to get a feel for that time in our history. The Civil War History Mobile made a stop in front of E.C. Glass High School.
It's all part of the Civil War Trails Weekend. The mobile museum shows the personal side of war, such as a soldier's last letter home and how civilians dealt with the war.
"Inside you find the story of Virginia. It takes you through from the beginnings of the Civil War and the battlefield and kind of talks about why Virginia was affected, and then it takes you to the homefront and then to the journey of freedom and slave quarters rooms and then finally to the legacy of the state," said Rusty Nix, tour manager for Civil War HistoryMobile .
The museum makes stops throughout the state all year. The History Mobile is open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday. You can also check it out Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
