Lynchburg, VA - Babcock and Wilcox says it's very pleased with its performance test from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
Tuesday, the federal inspection agency met with BWX staff to talk publicly about the evaluation.
For 18 months, the NRC checked out the operational safety, radiological controls and security at the facility and, in the end, found no areas needing improvement.
"They did meet all NRC requirements. We didn't see any safety issues. We found that they did a good job protecting workers and protecting people living near the facility as well as the environment," said Roger Hannah, NRC.
Babcock & Wilcox says it will continue to uphold its positive track record.
