Lynchburg, VA - The rain did not make for good driving conditions Wednesday morning. Police had to shut down Fort Avenue while they worked on a crash that involved five vehicles.
It happened about 9:30 a.m. in the 5,000 block.
Investigators say a woman fell asleep and crossed the center lane hitting four separate vehicles before coming to a stop.
They say she and another driver were taken to the hospital.
The driver has been charged with reckless driving.
Fort Avenue was shut down for about 45 minutes.
