Mitt Romney to Speak at LU Graduation

Lynchburg, VA - Liberty University says former Massachusetts Governor and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will deliver this year's commencement address.

Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. says they are delighted Romney will join LU to celebrate the 2012 graduates. He calls this a historic event for the university.

LU's commencement ceremony is on Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. at Arthur L. Williams Stadium.

Romney, a Mormon, has never visited Liberty University before.

Romney will deliver the address weeks after becoming the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. He struggled during the primary fight to win over evangelical Christians, who are a key part of the Republican base.
