LU's spring football game is Saturday starting at 1.
The Flames, under new coach Turner Gill, are shifting to a 4-3 defensive scheme this year, four linemen up front as opposed to three.
Senior Kevin Fogg says learning the new defense has been a challenge, but he feels spring practices are going great.
Kevin Fogg, FLAMES SENIOR DEF. BACK, said "We're playing fast out there, I'm enjoying it. Kind of the same of what we did last year but different technique and stuff like that. So I'm really excited."
Turner Gill, LU FIRST-YEAR HEAD COACH, said "We want it to be attacking defense, that's kind of where the big difference in a 4-3 and a 3-4 is you're not really two-gapping or you're reading. We want our guys to penetrate, get up the field and cause havoc in the backfield."
