Hillcats Beat Frederick 3-1 on Gattis Walk-off HR

Lynchburg - Catcher Evan Gattis belted a walk-off two-run homer as the Hillcats beat the Frederick Keys 3-1 Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series in Lynchburg.  J.R. Graham started on the mound for Lynchburg and went seven full innings, allowing just one run on six hits.

Frederick threatened in the 8th and 9th to snap a 1-all tie, but Lynchburg reliever Chasen Shreve struck out four in two innings.

It was still 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth when Gattis, this week's Carolina League Player of the Week, sent a two-run homer over the wall in left.  It's Gattis' league-leading fifth homer of the year as Lynchburg improves to 9-and-4 on the season.
