Lynchburg - The Hillcats rallied again in the ninth, but Friday night it wasn't nearly enough as Frederick beat Lynchburg 11-6 to even the series at one win apiece.
Lynchburg entered the game at 9-and-4, best record in the Carolina League. But the Keys racked up three in the first, four in the fifth as they built an 8-3 lead.
Ronnie Welty's chopper down third is fair and goes for an rbi double in the sixth to make it 9-3, Welty 4-for-5, two doubles, 5 rbi for the game.
Lynchburg would stage a late rally, scoring three in the ninth. Thursday night's hero Evan Gattis homered earlier in the game, Edward Salcedo also homered.
But the Keys beat the Hillcats 11-6, game three is Saturday night at 6:05.
