Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg organization is on a mission to provide adapted bikes to those who need them. The group is called Wheels on the James.
The bikes are designed for each individual's needs. The group has given away more than 30 bikes in about a one year time period.
They presented two of those bikes today at an American Legion post in Lynchburg. A ten-year-old girl got one. The other went to a military veteran who was injured during basic training.
"I'm so lucky, I didn't go through a lot of things compared to these guys and gals that are coming back. One of my best friends has lost both legs and part of his hand, but he's out there using a handcycle and he's doing amazing things," said Sarah Bonner, who got a new bike.
Anyone can donate money to provide the adapted bikes. If you'd like more information, go here.
