Rustburg - Today's high school Team of the Week is Rustburg softball. The Red Devils scored a huge win Monday night at home against Brookville. Rustburg beat the first-place Bees 6-0 thanks in part to Kelsea Jennings. She was 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run and 3 RBIs...and she got the win on the mound. With the win, Rustburg is 8-and-3 overall, 4-and-1 in the Seminole District with a game Wednesday against E.C. Glass.
Michelle Riddle, RUSTBURG HEAD COACH, said "This is one of the hardest working teams I've ever coached. You know even if the coach is over here talking about something, they're soft tossing to each other, they're coming up with drills themselves. And hard work pays off."
Kelsea Jennings, RUSTBURG SOPHOMORE PITCHER, said "The fact that we connect really well with each other and we talk through the things that we need to do and we just come together as a team. We're like sisters and family so it just works out."
