Two Dead After Accident in Wythe County



Wythe Co, VA - Two men are dead after a tractor trailer ran into them in Wythe County.
State Police say it happened Friday night just after 6:15 p.m. on I-81, one mile south of exit 77.
Police say Charles Brandon Commer, 25, of Alabama was driving his tractor trailer south, when he lost control, ran through a median and hit a 2007 Ford F-150 and 2006 Dodge Caravan.

We are told there was one person in each of the vehicles. Police say Chris Edwin Darby, 50, of Goose Creek, South Carolina and Harold Daniel Atwell, Jr., 66, of Max Meadows in Wythe County died at the scene.

State Police say Commer was charged with one count of reckless driving.
