Virginia Tech has hired a new men's basketball coach, according to multiple sources.
James Johnson was an assistant on the Virginia Tech staff and now has the head coaching job.
Johnson was an assistant with the Hokies since 2007, most recently Seth Greenberg's Associate Head Coach.
He just left the program a couple weeks ago to take an assistant coaching job at Clemson but will now return to Blacksburg.
The former Ferrum standout player informed Clemson coach Brad Brownell that he had accepted the job this morning after reportedly interviewing over the weekend.
