Oklahoma State baseball player Gabe Weidenaar was formally charged Monday following his arrest in a Stillwater drug bust last week.
Weidenaar was one of at least three others who were arrested on Thursday. Authorities said they recovered eight pounds of marijuana in the sting.
Monday, prosecutors charged him with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute within 2000 feet of a school, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of a controlled dangerous substance without tax stamp affixed and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Weidenaar did not make the trip with the Cowboys for their weekend series at Kansas State.
The senior from Bozeman, Montana is a utility outfielder and pitcher for the Cowboys. In 32 games this season, he was batting .314 with four home runs and 17 runs batted in. He was also 1-and-1 with a 4.50 earned run average in four appearances on the mound.
Last season, Weidenaar earned All-Big 12 Conference Second Team honors, earning three saves with a 0.42 ERA in 15 relief appearances and batting .280 with two homers and 22 runs batted in.
