Rustburg's Wood Talks About Re-committing to Virginia Tech

Rustburg - Rustburg basketball standout Marshall Wood has decided to re-commit to Virginia Tech.

Wood had been granted his release to explore his options after last week's firing of Seth Greenberg.  Tuesday, Wood's lead recruiter James Johnson returned to Blacksburg from Clemson as Tech's new head coach.  And after talking with Johnson Wednesday, Wood re-affirmed his commitment.  Wood said Johnson's hiring as head coach was a big reason he re-committed to the Hokies.

Marshall Wood  said "I wanted to have a relationship with my coach, with a coach whoever was going to be hired.  And I had a great relationship with him because he recruited me.  And when he got hired, I was just really excited and I knew I was going to go back to Virginia Tech."

"What do you like so much about Coach Johnson?"

Marshall Wood said "He's just a really genuine person.  He was sincere when he recruited me.  You know he's just a really good man and a good leader and I know he's going to be a great coach."
