Balling at Danville Regional
Danville, VA - Lieutenant Governor Bill Balling joined Gov. Bob McDonnell on his tour of the Southside. He met with administrators of Danville Regional Medical Center.
Bolling, who's known as Virginia's "Job Creation Officer," says it's the second largest employer in Danville. He also spoke with administrators about the hospital facing an uphill battle with local workforce training and decreased federal funding.
"Some of the challenges we have with medicaid funding for local hospitals, community hospitals and regional hospitals. But then also talk about the positive things that a facility like this does to help create jobs and opportunity," he said.
Bolling then met up with Gov. McDonnell and headed to Martinsville where they signed a bill aimed at boosting Virginia economic development.
