Lynchburg - Big crowd on hand over the weekend for Patrick Henry at E.C. Glass boys lacrosse. The Hilltoppers could clinch the regular season title and number one seed with a win. Matt Riordan's goal with just less than six-and-a-half minutes to play gave Glass a 7-6 lead.
But back came the Patriots, tying it, then Brock Plantinga giving PH an 8-7 lead with three minutes left. Patriots senior goalkeeper Minor Smith played a great game, 26 saves.
Patrick Henry wins 9-7 to tie Glass for first in the district.
Minor Smith, Patrick Henry's goalkeeper who made 26 saves, said "We've been playing here since I've been in the eighth grade and this is the first time we've come out with a win. So and all summer long, we played with the E.C. Glass boys so it was fun to finally be able to beat 'em up."
