Wilmington, DE - The Hillcats scored five runs in both the fifth and sixth innings Tuesday night on their way to a 10-4 victory over the Wilmington Blue Rocks. The Blue Rocks committed five errors which led to seven unearned runs. RHP Aaron Northcraft turned in another gem, tossing six innings, allowing just one run and striking out a season high eight on his way to his fourth win of the year.
Northcraft (4-1) earned the win with another solid start. The one earned run he allowed is the only earned run he has given up in his last three starts, spanning 17.2 innings pitched. Sample (0-4) took the loss. He allowed eight runs, three earned, on nine hits, while walking two and striking out five.
The Hillcats are now 17-12 and winners of their last three. They remain in first place in the Northern Division.
