Griffis Eating WormCampbell Co., VA - There was something special on the menu for an area teacher Wednesday: a worm!
A librarian challenged students at Brookville Middle to bring in 1,500 books. The books were to be donated to Campbell County Social Services for underprivileged kids.
If students were able to meet that goal, history and economics teacher Steve Griffis agreed to eat a live worm.
Well the students came through, so Griffis had to keep his word.
"She asked me if there was anything I could do to help her and I told her, "Miss Lite I'll do anything that you want. And she says well how about eat a worm?'" said Griffis.
Believe it or not, Griffis has eaten a worm before. He says he did it 25 years ago when teaching the book How to Eat Fried Worms.
