Danville, VA - Web Parts LLC, a Guatemalan Information Technology company, is relocating to Danville, adding hundreds jobs in the next years.
Officials say the company will start with 10 positions, but estimates that there will be 260 new jobs available within three years. They say the average wage will be $65,000.
The company owner says they're hiring skilled computer programmers with good Java and PHP skills.
Company officials say they wanted to move their business to the US when the economy picked up. And decided to establish in Danville because of the potential they see.
"They are doing all the right things to attract different companies. They have a great infrastructure for it and it just made lots of sense," said Brad Mainland, owner and CEO of Web Parts LLC.
The company received a $1 million grant from the Tobacco Commission to help fund this project.
