Halifax, VA -- Two Halifax Police Officers were taken to the hospital Wednesday night after they were assaulted during a traffic stop.
According to police, the officers pulled over a car speeding on Main Street. They say they found drug paraphernalia and had reason to believe the driver was under the influence of drugs. As they tried to cuff him, police say he ran.
Both officers received minor injuries when they finally arrested him. They have been released from the hospital.
Kenneth Mack, 43, faces several charges including two felony counts of assault on a police officer.
