There's a challenge in Lynchburg to drive less and use other ways to get around, like riding a bike. Lynchburg Bike Week starts next week, and Mayor Foster is kicking off the event this weekend. Come out to Riverfront Park Saturday, May 12 for the Mayor's Ride. It'll begin at 9 a.m. and the ride is 3 miles long. Bike technicians will also be at the park for bike check-ups and safety inspections.

You ever wonder what Thomas Jefferson was like in real life? Well you can't really meet him…but it's close! Take a step back in time as a Jefferson expert and impersonator debates Alexander Hamilton at Poplar Forest. That's Saturday at 2:15 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Lynchburg Hillcats are rocking the pink this weekend in support of breast cancer awareness. Come out to "Swing for a Cure" Saturday at 6 p.m.as the Hillcats take on the Winston-Salem Dash. Half of the ticket price will be donated to the fight against cancer, and the first 1,000 fans will get a free shirt!

Danville officers and the Boys & Girls Club are teaming up for the first ever Danville Area Youth Athletic Games. Kids ages 5 - 17 will compete in things like free throws, field goal kicking and a 100 yard dash run. That's Saturday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club.
