
Bedford County - Jefferson Forest took over sole possession of first place in Seminole District baseball, edging Amherst County 3-2 in nine innings Thursday night in a battle of first-place teams.
JF's Alex Bowker came through with the game-winning rbi single in the bottom of the ninth. JF's Christian Sanderson, who made two great catches in the third inning to help the Cavs get out of the frame, later came on in relief and picked up the victory on the mound. The Cavaliers improve to 8-and-2 in the district, 14-and-4 overall while Amherst drops to 7-and-3 in the Seminole, 12-and-4 overall.
