BOYS SOCCER
Brookville beat Rustburg 7-0 at Brookville. Mark Boyd, Cody Whitt, and Alonso Gutierrez each scored two goals for the Bees.
Jefferson Forest shut out Heritage 6-0.
Altavista won 6-0 over Dan River.
GIRLS SOCCER
Altavista won 4-3 in overtime against Dan River. Scoring for the Lady Colonels was Emma Green assisted by Megan Wilkes, Hannah Heimer unassisted and Carrie Holmes scored her first two goals of the season, assisted by Hannah Heimer and Sarah Hedgpeth, both in the final minute of the game.
Amy Fowlkes scored all three goals for Dan River. Altavista is now 8-2-1 and 6-0 in the Dogwood District and will face Appomattox on Tuesday and Nelson County on Thursday.
BASEBALL
Appomattox ripped Gretna 13-1. Dylan Caruso struck out 10 and hit a two-run homer.
L.C.A. won the VIC title, edging Carlisle 4-3.
James River beat Covington 15-5 on Senior Night. Kyle Failla was 2-3 with a grand slam and 6 RBIs. Jaret White hit a 2-run home run.
SOFTBALL
Brookville came back to beat Rustburg 9-6. Erin Womack was the winning pitcher and Lauren Carwile was 4-4 with three doubles for the Bees.
