Lynchburg, VA - Presidential hopeful Virgil Goode held a press conference in Lynchburg earlier Saturday. The former 5th district congressman discussed his platform, specifically same sex marriage.
Goode said he has been consistent on defining marriage as being between one man and one woman. That's an issue he says both Romney and Obama have not been consistent on. He maintained that legalizing same sex marriage will adversely affect the country's finances.
"It will mean that same sex couples will get the same social security benefits that heterosexual couples get and that will be a drain on the social security fund," said Goode.
Goode says he's won ballot access already in several states. But is still working to get 10,000 signatures in Virginia to get on the ballot this November.
