Lynchburg, VA - They just don't have the funding.
Now, Lynchburg City Schools are looking at deep cuts, including teacher layoffs.
Tuesday, the School Board voted unanimously to cut 42 positions. That includes teachers at the elementary and high school level.
The board also discussed saving hundreds of thousands of dollars by restructuring the custodial and maintenance department.
School Board Chair Charlie White says the board's done the best they can with this.
This is the third year Lynchburg City Schools have seen big cuts.
