Lynchburg - Hillcat pitchers held Wilmington to four hits and no runs and Robbie Hefflinger's solo homer was the difference as Lynchburg blanked the Blue Rocks 1-0.
Hefflinger hit his homer in the bottom of the fifth and Lynchburg pitchers made it stand. Gus Schlosser, Caleb Brewer and Juan Jaime combined on the shutout, Schlosser went seven innings and allowed just three hits to get the win and improve to 4-and-2 on the season.
Tommy LaStella led the 'Cats with two hits.
Lynchburg will try and make it three straight over the Blue Rocks Wednesday night at Calvin Falwell Field, game time is 6:05.
