Bedford, VA - The Bedford Fire Department helped save a hiker on the Appalachian Trail Tuesday.
They responded to the Blue Ridge Parkway near Sunset Field shortly after noon.
After searching for about 15 minutes, they were able to find a hiker who had fallen about 20 feet from a rock.
Rescuers got the man onto a helicopter and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. There's no word on the man's condition.
