Pamplin, VA - One lane of Route 460 is still closed Thursday as Norfolk Southern investigates Wednesday's train derailment in Pamplin.
The wreck happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday across from the Exxon station.
The turn on to Route 628 from 460 is still closed.

Update: 10:45 p.m.:
Pamplin, VA - As of Wednesday night a Pamplin road is still blocked after a train went off the tracks around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. The wreck is across from the Exxon station on 460.
State Police are treating this as an accident site, not a crime scene. Norfolk-Southern will continue its work until it's done.
"Them boys gotta work a lot of hours to get that work done quick," said Ayers.
The official cause of the crash is still under investigation. But people living and working in the area say crews were doing work on the track just last week.
Update 9:45 p.m.:
Appomattox Co., VA - Norfolk-Southern investigators responded to the scene earlier Wednesday evening to the train derailment and are investigating the cause of the incident.
State Police have cleared from the scene. Route 628 will remain closed until at least 6 a.m. Thursday.

Appomattox Co., VA – Officials say nobody was hurt at a train derailed in Pamplin Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say 18 cars were involved in the derailment. All the train cars were empty at the time, and no one was injured.
Virginia State Police officials arrived at the scene at 4 p.m. after a train derailed at the railroad crossing at Route 628 in Appomattox County.
Route 628 is currently blocked and traffic is being re-routed around the incident.
An ABC 13 crew is on the scene and will have more information on ABC 13 News at 11.
