Lynchburg - Wilmington got a seventh-inning rbi single from Alex McClure to snap a 1-all tie and the Blue Rocks held on to nip Lynchburg 2-1 to earn a split of the four-game series.
Robby Hefflinger provided the Hillcats' only run with a 5th-inning solo homer, his fourth long ball of the season. Lynchburg was held to just to just four hits on the night, Wilmington only managed five.
Lynchburg now begins a weekend road series at Winston-Salem Friday night before heading to Myrtle Beach for three. The Hillcats return home next Friday night.
