Franklin Co., VA - Former Franklin County Sheriff Ewell Hunt is now facing a second wrongful death lawsuit.
The parents of Chad English are seeking $5.35 million from Hunt and two deputies because they say the sheriff's department had credible information warning of English's murder and didn't act on it.
The 19-year old was killed in May 2010.
Jeremiah Stump was sentenced to life in prison for the murder.
English's parents hired a private detective after hearing rumors of the warnings. The English family says at least three people warned authorities of Stump's intent.
"In our hearts we feel that's what happened and we need to find out for sure," said Wanda English, the victim's mother.
Hunt is also named in a $20 million lawsuit filed by the estate of Jennifer Agee who investigators say was murdered by her ex husband and former deputy Jonathan Agee.
