Martinsville, VA - Martinsville has found a very interesting use for their trash.
The city had started working on a landfill generator that converts methane to energy. Now it's up and running and it's saving them a lot of money, according to the Assistant Public Works Director.
They predict a $100,000 to $500,000 savings for the city a year.
Martinsville used $1 million federal grant to build the generator. Officials predict it will last between 15 and 20 years.
