Henry Co., VA – Officials from the Henry County Sheriff's Office say one of four people killed in a car crash in April died of gunshot wounds and not the crash.
Officials say an autopsy shows Lamar Shonta Ward was shot 10 times and died from the shooting before the car accident that killed four people.
Lamont Anthony Woods, 21, was indicted Monday for first degree murder and child endangerment stemming from the April 18 incident in Martinsville.
Ward was shot before getting into the car with his family. On the way to the hospital, Ward wrecked and all four people in the car died, including a 6-month-old baby.
Woods was taken into custody Monday and is now in jail without bond.
