Longtime Lynchburg College baseball coach Gerry Thomas has died at age 81.
His son Randy said Tuesday afternoon Thomas passed after suffering a massive stroke. Thomas coached the Hornets for 27 years from 1968 to 1995, piling up more than 600 wins and leading LC to its first NCAA Tourney berth in 1975.
