Day of Caring in Lynchburg

Lynchburg, VA - Volunteers have been hard at work in Lynchburg Wednesday for the annual Day of Caring.

You may have seen volunteers on the side of the road all in white shirts. It's put on by the United Way of Central Virginia to help area nonprofits.

Volunteers at Noah's Ark Day Care center landscaped the front yard, painted the walls and replaced the gate to their fenced-in playground.

The Day Care Director says it's a huge help.

"One of our top priorities is to make the front of the building presentable to the public, and if it weren't for the day of caring we wouldn't be able to have it done," said Wanda Crews.

This year, there were roughly 200 projects to complete.
