Lynchburg - Today's ABC 13 High School Teams of the Week are E.C. Glass girls and boys tennis.
Both earned 5-0 victories Tuesday to advance to Region 3 semifinal action. The girls, 14-and-1 and led by number one player Julie Clark, will face Northside Thursday at 1 at Walrond Park in Roanoke, that match has been moved up to one. The boys, 16-and-2 with top seed Scottie Taylor, will host Thursday's JF/Rockbridge County winner Friday in the region semis.
Scottie Taylor, HILLTOPPERS SENIOR (#1 SINGLES), said "I think our depth definitely, we've always been a deep team. One through six, we could all beat each other on any given day."
Paige Riley, HILLTOPPERS JUNIOR (#3 SINGLES), said "I mean I would say we're a lot stronger, you know, in many ways this year because we have a few new girls and we've all improved. So I think we've got a really good chance at states."
