Brosville, VA- A couple of local heroes in Brosville have received special recognition for their bravery.
Carole Brown and Jack Gates III received the Heroism Medal by the Dan River Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Brown and Gates received the medals for their courage during the January 26 fire at Brosville's Volunteer Fire Department.
They both entered the burning building and were able to save thousands of dollars of equipment. The medal recognizes their outstanding bravery and self-sacrifice in the face of imminent danger.
