Lynchburg, VA - Barker Jennings is shutting its doors after more than a century. Managers told the employees Thursday.
Barker Jennings opened in 1885 and is a supplier of industrial, automotive and hardware products for businesses. Company officials tell us they couldn't compete with the bigger box companies.
Their lender pulled their line of credit, and they couldn't find another bank loan.
A handful of the 24 employees is staying-on to help the company liquidate the 30,000 items they have in the warehouse.
The Virginia University of Lynchburg owns the building.
