Roanoke, VA - Friday's marks the start of Roanoke's long running summer kick off, Festival in the Park.
The event kicks off in Elmwood Park downtown and runs through Monday.
Friday crews were putting the final touches on set up as the music gets underway at 6:30 p.m.
Friday's headline act is The Gin Blossoms!
Festivities pick up again Saturday at 10 a.m. and includes a number of family oriented activities from a pro BMX show to arts and crafts.
