Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg city public pool opened for the season Monday.
Dozens of people waited in line for the pool's opening at Miller Park. Parents got the chance to bring their kids on their day off school.
They say the cheap pool admission is a huge plus. It's $3 for adults to swim for the day and $2 for kids.
"It's great because we don't have a pool. I mean I can't afford to spend $40,000 on a pool but we can come out here and its affordable," said Chris Shaffer.
"It's wonderful, the parks and recreation keep it clean and you know it's safe… look at all the lifeguards so you know it's the best place to take your kids and have a nice fun day," said Jan Farmer.
The pool is open from noon until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday. The pool is open through mid-August.
