Ron Thornhill
Appomattox, VA - An Appomattox man who stole thousands of dollars from the Appomattox County Historical Society learned his sentence Thursday.
Ron Thornhill will spend nine months in jail; the rest of his 12 year sentence was suspended.
He returned $20,000 to the historical society at his formal sentencing hearing and will give the remaining $20,000 by March of 2016.
He and his mother June Thornhill pleaded guilty to stealing from the organization where she served as treasurer.
