South Boston, VA - The Halifax County High School Motorsports program has received some huge help. Wells Fargo has donated $5,000.
Motorsports gets no funding from the school budget, so they rely entirely on sponsors.
Instructors say the program is really popular, so it's harder to provide gear and tools for all of the students who want to participate. Without this donation, many were afraid the program would've been cut.
"Without their support, we wouldn't be able to buy the NASCAR licenses for the students to be able to do what they need to do, and the equipment they use when they're at the race track," said Doug Newcomb, the motorsports instructor.
This is the second year Wells Fargo donated to the program. Instructors say some of the money will go to gasoline, racing tires and uniforms.
