Lynchburg, VA -- One local high school has two valedictorians, and they are twins. Karina and Monika Payerhin will be presenting one speech together at Brookville High School's graduation Friday night.

They both have immaculate report cards, countless extracurriculars, and more than $430,000 of college scholarships each.

"It is very unusual to get co-valedictorians. It's amazing that two students end up with the same GPA. Let alone two sisters," said Bruce Abbott, principal of Brookville High School.

Friday they plan to present their valedictorian speech together.

"It's about looking back and remembering where you started also looking forward and the opportunities that lie ahead," said Monika Payerhin.

Since childhood, Karina and Monika Payerhin have remained inseparable, through dance recitals, volunteering and of course studying. They even answer questions the same way.

"I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else. She is my twin sister, best friend," said Monika Payerhin.

"I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else. That's really exciting, writing the speech with her, getting to speak with her. We've done everything together all our lives," said Karina Payerhin.

But after graduation, they plan to attend different colleges. It's the first time they will be apart.

"We will definitely stay in touch, we will talk every single day, I don't doubt that," said Karina Payerhin.

"We'll Skype all the time, we will talk all the time. But it is a new experience," said Monika Payerhin.

Until then, they have one speech, one perfect GPA and each other to lean on.

"When we get up there and we are there together, that will make it a little easier and just to be recognized for everything we've done, I'm really excited for that," said Karina Payerhin.

Their graduation is Friday at 7 p.m. Monika is going to Richmond next year and Karina is going to UVA.  They both say that when they get out of school, they both want to become vets.
