Danville, VA – Friday's weather made a bad situation worse outside of the Piedmont Mall in Danville. Fire officials say a Land Rover caught on fire in the parking lot while its owner was inside.
Emergency responders had a hard time getting there because the nearest fire engine was on another call, and by the time crews got there, four cars were on fire.
Fire officials believe high winds were to blame for the fire spreading.
" I was only in GameStop for about 5 minutes. When I came out it was smoking and everything, I'm just glad nobody got hurt really," said Dominique Yancey, one of the car owners.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the fire marshal believes an electrical problem was to blame.
