Lynchburg, VA - A Lynchburg group wants to help some wounded warriors go hunting, and Broken Vine Outdoors is hosting a fundraiser to make it happen.
The event will be held at the National Guard Armory off Leesville Road. About 40 different vendors, including some hunting and fishing ones, will be set up. The group's goal is to raise at least $15,000.
Organizers say that would cover the costs for about four wounded warriors. They plan to hunt for white tail deer and hogs in Texas as soon as they raise enough money.
"These people when they come home, they don't have the right guns, they don't have the right equipment as far as clothing. Whatever they need is gonna be provided, and so their hunting license, all of that will be provided. That's why we're trying to raise so much money," said organizer Andy Van Alstine.
The event is set for June 16 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and June 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It costs $5 to get in.
