Bedford, VA- A store in Bedford is trying to use music to bring more people downtown.

The Bedford Country store is hosting free jam sessions on Fridays. The idea is for local musicians to come in with their instruments and rock out for free. The country store plans to feature bluegrass and country musicians. The store's owner hopes it will get more people to take notice of Centertown Bedford.

"This just gives people a chance to see what we have, because we have some really great things downtown, and some people just don't realize that. People can come in and people can enjoy themselves, relax, and have fun at the same time. And hopefully they will come back another day," said Rachel Ellis, owner of the Bedford County store.

The jam sessions are on Friday from about 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. You can find more information the country store's Facebook page
