Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg Salvation Army will be seeing changes to their Corps Officers very soon.
Major Fred Thornhill and his wife Captain Evelyn Thornhill will be leaving Lynchburg to become missionaries. The Thornhills have served the Lynchburg community for about two years now.
Their last Sunday will be on June 17 for what the Salvation army calls the "Farewell Sunday."
Colleagues say they were always very passionate about the Lynchburg Community.
"They also get involved with the community, they think Lynchburg is the best place they have ever been in any of their appointments, and we are going to miss them they are very good people and very good ministers," said CSM Wayne Wade, administrative assistant.
They will be succeeded by Donald and Laura Dohmann who are coming from Gastonia, North Carolina.
