Brookville Baseball - ABC 13 Team of the Week

Campbell County -  Today's high school Team of the Week is the Brookville Bees baseball team.

This squad has picked a great time to catch fire this season.  The Bees got a game-tying two-run double Tuesday night from Reid Bryant in the third inning against Hidden Valley.

Then in the fifth, senior Andrew Ewing, with the bases loaded, rips a grand slam over the left field fence.  The Bees won 7-4.  A Brookville team that was 8-and-6 has now won 11 in a row, including a Seminole and Region tournament title.  Now with solid pitching down the stretch, the Bees advance to Friday's state semifinals against Grafton,  new game time of 10 o'clock in the morning at Pulaski's Calfee Park.

Andrew Ewing, who hit a grand slam in the win over Hidden Valley, said "Now that we're on this winning streak, we have the best three pitchers in the state, you know, that's the way they're throwing.  And when they throw like that, all we've got to do is put up a few runs and we can get a win."

Brookville's Friday game time, originally 1 o'clock, has been moved up to 10.  Cave Spring's graduation is Friday morning, so the Knights requested to play in the later game at 1.
