LU's Alex Close Named Louisville Slugger All-American

Lynchburg - Liberty University first baseman Alex Close has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team selected by Collegiate Baseball.

Close, the Big South Freshman of the Year, hit .304 with 47 RBI and 14 homers. Those 14 long balls led the Big South and set new Big South and Liberty records for home runs by a freshman.

Virginia's Derek Fisher was all named to the team.
