Myrtle Beach, SC - The Hillcats ended that ugly eight-game losing skid in a big way Wednesday night at Myrtle Beach, beating the Pelicans 8-1.
The Hillcats ERUPT in the third inning, Nick Ahmed got it started with the long shot to left off the wall, Ahmed plates two with the double.
Former Coastal Carolina star Tommy La Stella then chopped one down the first base line, he raced around for an rbi triple that made it 3-0.
Still in the third, Matt Weaver unloaded a three-run homer to left, Lynchburg scored seven runs in the third to take early command. Dismather Delgado and Matt Chaffee combined to limit the Pelicans to six hits and one run.
The Hillcats and Pelicans wrap up their four-game series Thursday night in Myrtle Beach.
